Mr McCartney Tweeted a graphic and claimed that City of Lincoln Council has received £974,307 to support rough sleepers.

This data is accurate. The £974,307 that Lincoln has received is part of the Next Steps Accommodation Programme, which aims to provide rough sleepers with long-term move-on accommodation for them to stay in until they’re able to leave.

In the funding document for the initiative, Lincoln can be seen to receive that sum of money, therefore our verdict is true.

This money was announced by the Secretary of State on 24 May and will be provided to Lincoln in two parts, 2020-21 and 2023-24.
